Vaishanvite
Meditating |

Dressed
in a saffron-colored robe, a sadhu counts prayer beads and meditates
under a majestic old tree at the Deer Park, set amongst the ancient
ruins of Sarnath. Distinctive vertical stripes painted on his
forehead indicate this holy man is a Vaishnavite,
a devotee of the Hindu god Vishnu. Sarnath, one of the oldest
sacred sites in India, is a favorite pilgrimage center for Hindus
and Buddhists.
