Pride
and sensitivity, salient characteristics of the Rajputs,
are reflected in this face. In contrast with their monochromatic
desert environment, Rajputs dress in vibrant colors. A man’s
turban indicates his class, caste and region. A clan-based
society of proud and chivalrous people whose name means
‘sons of princes,’ Rajputs established themselves
in modern-day Rajasthan, the ‘land of kings.’
