"Haunted" Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

At Halloween, a skeleton with mask and snorkel hovers above a glass-plated tunnel as sharks, rays and other marine life glide by. In keeping with the holiday spirit, Dracula and The Bride of Frankenstein dance along the transparent passageway.

Nearly 2,000 animals, including numerous species of sharks, tropical and fresh-water fish, eels, stingrays, jellyfish, and reptiles (some rare), inhabit the 105,000+ square foot Shark Reef exhibit and Animal Husbandry Building facilities.

The Shark Reef's purpose is conservation and education. In addition to audio wands that explain the exhibits, more than a dozen naturalists are available to answer questions.
