A
traditional boat makes its way along one of the many palm-fringed
waterways linking Alappuzha and Kollam in the state of Kerala.

of coconuts, coir and cashews, oriented toward maritime commerce
for almost 2,000 years and boasting the highest literacy rate
in India.
